AIR - “A Breath On the Line” Liliana Fijman - in the event gallery

“A Breath on the Line“ Made for the VI WTA international biennial in Mexico, 2011. An ecological premise for open interpretation. The challenge was how to make tangible the intangible.

My response: “The whiteness and delicate values of the material, the wild circular movement of wire and the burning of the smoking velum speaks to me about the issues we are confronting as individuals and as a society: pollution and the respect or abuse of an eco system that is truly on the line. In the shadows of its materiality lay many question: What is real? What is essential? What sustains us all? It can all be expressed in as single breath!"

MARCH 2024

Artists Charlotte Collins, Janice Bowker, and Amie Noakes (click for instagram) are three artists that the colors and forms in their work could remind one of a love of shape, flow, life, and things that grow. And through the colors, forms, shapes, and lines, we can feel a relief that we have made it through another dormant sleep of Mother Nature and we can sprout into spring!

If you are interested in these pieces please follow the artists on social media or feel free to check in with me for contact info.
